TEACHED Producer/Director Kelly Amis created a new short documentary The Heart of the Matter: A HealthCorps Storypremiering tonight in New York City. With our nation's childhood obesity epidemic on its way to creating a full-fledged health catastrophe in America, HealthCorps is sending young emissaries into public schools to turn the situation around for kids and their families.

The film profiles Amy Barras, a young HealthCorps coordinator, as she works to transform the health of students at Benson Polytechnic High School, an inner-city school in Portland, Oregan. Along the way, she inspires seasoned and new teachers to develop an innovative, integrative program that has incredible--and hopefully lasting--results for everyone involved.

The screening is hosted by Scholastic Inc. 557 Broadway New York, New York 10012 tonight Tuesday January 28th at 4:30pm.  Documentary screening at 4:30pm, Question and Answer at 5:00pm, Reception at 5:30pm.
